Morning service

"Living in the Kingdom"
Matthew 18:23-35

Siblings deal with the reality of relational tensions every day. Our kids used to get on each other’s nerves. Well… Rabbi David Nelson tells the story of two brothers who went to a rabbi one day to request help in resolving a long-standing feud between the two of them. The rabbi got them to agree to “cease and desist” provoking each other. They shook hands. As they were leaving, the rabbi asked each brother to make a wish for the other in honor of the Jewish New Year. The first brother turned to the other and said, I wish you what you wish me.” At that, the second brother whirled around, threw his hands up and exclaimed to the rabbi, “See, Rabbi, he’s starting up again!”

Evening service

"Kingdom Living - Part 2"
Matthew 20:1-16; 21:28-31

Our daughter Michelle is a high school math educator. She is passionate about the subject. I tried to talk her into a career in English several years ago, but she’d hear nothing of that! She went down to SIU-E and took her classes with a bunch of nerdy engineers. I am happy that she was able to compete with them for the top grades! She loves math!
