Not everyone accepts and welcomes change. While the idea of change can bring about freshness, potential and new beginnings, some resist it and view it as a threat to the status quo. There is an amusing, old story in a letter to President Andrew Jackson dated January 31, 1829. "To President Jackson: The canal system of this country is being threatened by the spread of a new from of transportation known as 'railroads'..."
