“Symbols That Speak”
1 Corinthians 11:23-26; Matthew 26:26-27

It’s no secret that our President has some pretty large ears. He, himself, is quite good natured about it all. Just recently on his trip to Cairo, he toured the tomb of an ancient priest in one of the pyramids and noted a curious figure that was carved on one the walls. It looked to me on the NBC news coverage that night (June 5) and again this week as I reviewed the clip on You Tube that the figure resembled one of those caricatures you see in political cartoons. Well anyway… when President Obama saw it, he was heard to say, “Looks like me! Look at the ears!” How funny! Symbols do speak… even from the ancient past!
