How accurate are you first impressions? One recent study of those who participated in "speed-dating" or "pre-dating" exercises, concluded that individuals on average make their choices in three seconds! Talk about "split-second" decision-making! Psychologists though, have also said about our social intuition that we are sometimes amazingly accurate in our assessments, but at other times, tragically inaccurate!

"What Do You Want?"
John 1:35-42
My Dad often sounds like he's making a "Yogi-ism" with some of his compliments to me. Yogi was always known for the simplistic nature of his sayings like the now famous, "When you come to a fork in the road... take it!" Recently, Dad commended, "That was a really good sermon! It had a point to it!" I received his comment as positive, but it did have me wondering about all the other sermons he's heard me preach, "Did they have a point to them?!"
